History of Pigeon River Revival

For many years, Kyla Rowland, Southern Gospel artist, composer, writer, and conference speaker, hosted an annual Women’s Conference in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee . Christian women from surrounding states came together for two days of worship, fellowship, and Bible study.  It became apparent that the husbands and families of the ladies attending the Women’s Conferences also could benefit from a similar meeting designed to meet the spiritual needs of the entire family. With this vision in mind, Kyla Rowland began praying and seeking for God’s will in establishing a two-day conference that would encourage both, Christian men and Christian women, and revive their families and churches.

With this concept in mind, Pigeon River Revival was birthed. Sister Kyla put together a framework of people who were shared her vision and began praying, organizing, and working together. The first Pigeon River Revival took place May of 2003 at the Ramada Inn Convention Center in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee . Thursday evening’s worship service with music by the Whisnants and preaching by Dr. Joe Arthur was a tremendous blessing. The following Friday morning, the Men met for a time of worship and for preaching with Evangelist Tom Gilliam and Dr. Dean McNeese. The Ladies held their Friday afternoon meeting with gospel music, testimonies, and speaker, Kyla Rowland.  The Friday evening session concluded with Preaching by Dr. Craig Edwards and music from Kyla Rowland and Deliverance.

Since that time, the annual Pigeon River Revival has continued to grow in attendance and influence. Several souls have been saved as a result of this meeting. Many Christians have testified that they have been encouraged, strengthened, and inspired in their walk of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as a result of attending Pigeon River Revival. Many people have testified that the meetings have had a direct impact on their lives and ministries. Preachers and Pastors who were so discouraged and ready to quit came to the revival and found renewed vitality for their ministries. Christians who were weary and worn came to the revival and have found new strength for their journeys. To God be the glory: Great things He hath done!
